昨年秋に開催された代官山エコモコ・フォーラムで、代官山ステキ総合研究所は「代官山エコモコ・ビジョン」を提言したが、その3つの柱は以下の通り：（１）景観重点道路、（２）エコモコステーションのネットワーク化、（３）「新文化十字路」構想。なおここで「エコモコ」とは、エコロジー（環境）、モビリティ（交通）、コミュニテイ（街づくり）を一緒に考えるもの。
それでは「新文化十字路」とは何か。それは周辺地域を含めた代官山における「南北軸」と「東西軸」の十字路を意味する。
まず、「南北軸」は、北側の代官山駅と南側の中目黒駅をつなぐ縦軸のことで、ここは主に歴史的・文化的な施設などが連続して見出せる地域である。具体的には、代官山駅とその周辺、奈良県iスタジオ、ヒルサイドテラス、旧朝倉邸と庭園、暗闇坂、三角地帯、都営住宅、中目黒駅とその周辺、目黒区総合庁舎などがあるので、この軸は歴史的・文化的香りを維持して優れた街並みづくりを進めるべきである。
他方、「東西軸」は、東側の目黒駅と西側の池尻大橋駅を結ぶ軸で、ここは川や公園など緑の自然が見られるのが特徴である。現実は、目黒川沿いに様々な商業活動が展開しているので、今後は自然環境を維持することが重要であろう。またこの軸は、目黒区が指定している「バリアフリー・エリア」と重なる部分も多い。
「新文化十字路」構想は、以上2つの軸を「エコモコ」の視点で一体的整備を図るとともに、2つの軸の中心拠点の要としての三角地帯に注目する。この地帯は東京都と目黒区が共有している場所で、民間の開発を導入して整備する予定とのことである。ここは、代官山の新文化十字路の要として、地域の「エクセレント・センター」ともいうべき拠点として整備し、歴史的、文化的および自然の環境を維持し活用して創造と革新を生み出して、生活の快適さとビジネスの繁栄が共存するような地域づくりを促進する活動を行うようにすべきである。

Proposal, “New Cultural Crossing: Daikanyama ECOMOCO Vision”

At Daikanyama ECOMOCO Forum last fall, Daikanyama Suteki Research Institute proposed the “Daikanyama ECOMOCO Vision” with three pillars, i.e., (1) Street Beautification, (2) ECOMOCO Station Networking, and (3) New Cultural Crossing, where ECOMOCO means a proper combination of ecology, mobility and community development.
What is “New Cultural Crossing”? It means a crossing between the "North-South axis" and the "East-West axis" in a greater Daikanyama region.
The "North-South axis" is a line connecting Daikanyama Station in the North and Nakameguro Station in the South, where historical and cultural resources are almost continuously located. They include Daikanyama Station and its surroundings, Nara-ken i Studio, Hillside Terrace, Old Asakura Residence and Garden, Kurayami-zaka, the Triangular Area, Tokyo Public Apartments, Nakameguro Station and its surroundings, and Meguro Government Office. This axis should be developed into a nice district with the historical and cultural flavor.
On the other hand, the "East-West axis" is connecting Meguro Station in the East and Ikejiri Ohashi Station in the West, where a river, public parks and other natural resources are located. In reality, various commercial developments are taking place along this axis. Thus, the natural environment along Meguro River should be preserved. Also, this axis roughly corresponds to the “barrier free area.” designated by Meguro Ward.
The “New Cultural Crossing” vision focuses on a comprehensive development of these axes from the viewpoint of ECOMOCO with special attention to the Triangular Area at the crossroads in the center of the axes. This area is jointly owned by Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Meguro Ward and may be redeveloped with some private sector input. As the core of the New Cultural Crossing in Daikanyama, this should become a “Center of Excellence” in the community, where historical, cultural and natural resources can be preserved and utilized to foster creativity and innovation for the co-existence of nice living and prosperous business in the community.

代官山エコアイデア作品紹介：Daikanyama Eco-Idea Project

「ブック・アラウンド代官山」："Book Around Daikanyama"

10月23日の「エコモコ・フォーラム」で代官山エコアイデア入選作品として表彰された「ブック・アラウンド代官山」プロジェクトを紹介します。
これは基本的に、代官山でそのままでは捨てられてしまう本のなかで、代官山の文化やコンセプトに関係するような良い本を回収して、それを代官山で協力してくれるお店に置き、訪れるお客さんはそこで読んでも持ち帰ってもよく、返したい人はどの協力店に返しても良いような環境にもコミュニティのためにもなる本のリユース・システムを提案するものです。
プロジェクト提案者の藤田香織さん（FDI代表）はすでにこのプロジェクトに資金面で協力してくれるいくつかの企業とコンタクトを開始しており、よい反応を得ているとのことです。
プロジェクト概要は以下の通りです。
「ブック・アラウンド代官山」
ステップ１．代官山ビジネスネットワーク登録者へ呼びかけ、回収：
回収は月に一度。FDIのスタッフが寄付していただく会社、拠点を訪ね回収する。
司書資格取得を目指して勉強している学生さんをボランティアスタッフとして迎え、手伝っていただく。交通費、昼食代支給。
ステップ２．本の分類、シール制作、貼付、本の設置：
回収した本に、代官山図書館の取り組みについて簡単に明記したシールを貼付する。
ステップ３．代官山地区のカフェ、レストラン、バーに設置協力依頼、設置：
それぞれの拠点の条件（設置場所、分量など）を調整しながら、設置する。同時に、目印になるPOPを制作、設置。
ステップ４．閲覧、人から人へ：
カフェ、レストラン、バーに立ち寄った人たちは、自由にその本、雑誌を読むことが出来、持ち帰ることも出来る。そして、返却。またその本を別の人が閲覧する。そうして、本と本、人と人がコネクトしていく。

"Book Around Daikanyama" just won the Daikanyama Eco-Idea Award at last week's ECOMOCO Forum.
This project is intended to recycle books by collecting good books from various companies and organizations in Daikanyama, and distribute them among participating stores and shops, where customers can read them inside the store or take them home.
According to Mr. Kaori Fujita (FDI) who is proposing this project, some companies in the Daikanyama area have already made a pledge to support this project financially.
