10月3日（火）午前10：30に代官山アドレスの近くにある鈴木さんのオフィスに伺いました。
まず、鈴木さんの会社は生活・ファッション雑貨のデザインとプロデュースを専門に行なっており、特にＯＬや主婦がカジュアルに持ち歩くトートバッグに力を入れていて、実際に代官山エコバッグもプロデュースしたとのことです。またトートバッグのデザインを地域のデザイナーから募集して、10月10日の「トートバッグの日」にグランプリ作品を選んで表彰しています。これは地域のデザイナーを育てることを目的とした社会貢献活動で、過去の受賞作品など詳しくは以下を参照：

さらに鈴木さんが支援しているFRIENDLY DAY INTERNATIONAL代表の藤田香織さんを紹介していただき、いろいろな地域ボランティアー活動についてうかがいました。主な活動は「４１４フレンドリーデー」で、これは4月14日をフレンドリーデー、つまり「友だちの大切さを想い、人も動物も自然も仲良しでいたいと願う日」と指定し、さまざまな活動やイベントを行なうもので、今年の4月にも代官山で、インスタレーション展示、音楽ライブ、ギャラリー展覧会、エコバッグ・プロモーション販売などのフレンドリーデー活動を企画したとのことです。詳細は以下を参照：

今やこの「フレンドリーデー」のアイデアは、カンボジア、ベトナム、フィリピンなどのアジア諸国に広がりつつあり、国際的な共同プロジェクトも計画されているようです。
最近もっとも力を入れているのが、「リユースＴシャツ」プロジェクトで、これはいらないＴシャツを集めて裏返しにして、新しいデザインをほどこすもので、使わないＴシャツ3枚と「リユースＴシャツ」1枚を物々交換するプロジェクトを通じてＴシャツ集めに努めているとのこと。9月29日付の「読売新聞」にも取り上げられ、広く注目を集めています。詳細は以下を参照：http://blog.livedoor.jp/friendlyday414/
今後とも文化と環境を重視したボランティア交流活動を通じて代官山に貢献したいと藤田さんは語っていました。代官山独特の文化が、鈴木さんや藤田さんのようなボランティア精神にあふれた人によって支えられていることを実感したインタビューでした。

I visited Mr. Suzuki at his office near Daikanyama Address around 10:30 on October 3.
First, he explained that his company specializes in planning and producing life/fashion accessary goods, especially nicely designed totebags for working women and housewives to carry on casual occasions. In fact, the Daikanyama Ecobag was designed and produced by his company, and totebag design awards are presented to encourage community artists to use totebags as their canvas for fostering artistic creativity in the community. Then Mr. Suzuki introduced me to his associate, Ms. Kaori Fujita (FRIENDLY DAY INTERNATIONAL), who seems quite active in voluntary networking projects such as "414 Friendly Day," organizing various activities and events on April 14, when installation work presentations, live music sessions, gallery exhibitions and eco-bag promotion sales were held in Daikanyama. The Friendly Day concept is spreading to other countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines and other Asian countries, and international collaboration is now being planned.

Ms. Fujita seemed eager to contribute more to Daikanyama through her voluntary networking activities with emphasis on culture and ecology. This interview made me realize that the Daikanyama culture is supported by people with volunteer spirit like Mr. Suzuki and Ms. Fujiita.

10月の代官山イベント： Daikanyama Events in October

10月に入り代官山が似合う秋も本番です。
10月といえば現在発売中（10月10日号）の雑誌「財界」（http://www.zaikai.jp）に、代官山ステキ総研理事長の岩橋謹次さんが、連載「代官山街づくり活動」の第4回「地域ブランド力を高める企業などとの関係作り」を寄稿しており、その中で、（１）企業「ヤマハ」と代官山、および（２）地域「奈良」と代官山の関係を取り上げていますので一読をお勧めします。
この２つの活動については、代官山のＨＰ（http://www.daikanyama.ne.jp）の一番上の段にも載っていますが、それらに関する10月のイベントとしては、（１）は「代官山エコモーション活動」の総括シンポジウムが10月23日に開催される予定。また（２）は「奈良・代官山コラボレーション」が進行中で、特に10月は「奈良の秋、代官山の秋」をテーマとした俳句コンテストが行なわれます。詳細は以下をご覧ください：http://www.daikanyama.ne.jp/nara/

Mr. Kinji Iwahashi (President, Daikanyama Suteki Soken) is contributing a series of articles on Daikanyama Community Development in "Zaikai"magazine, where he takes up (1) "Yamaha and Daikanyama," and (2) "Nara and Daikanyama" in the current issue of the magazine.
As for their events in October, (1) a summary symposium on "Daikanyama Ecomotion" activity with Yamaha is scheduled to be held on October 23, and (2) a Haiku contest with the theme "Autumn in Nara and Daikanyama" is being held this month, according to Daikanyama Website: http://www.daikanyama.ne.jp/
